Alex Kosiorek focuses his attention on projects that promote high-quality reproduction, mixing and mastering, through technologically advanced media and concepts.  Alex began his journey into music, technology and the audio arts at an early age.  During high school, he studied music and performed as an oboist and vocalist.  Meanwhile, he was creating mock radio shows, remixes using tape based 4 track recorders and experimenting with some of the first computers including the Timex Sinclair 1000.  Alex became the sound engineer for Lakewood High School’s (Ohio) former award winning jazz ensemble “Roadshow.”  He also edited reel-to-reel tapes for productions at WCLV-FM.  His expertise and conviction allowed him to begin college while still in high school, becoming the first “audio recording” young artist at the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) and Case Western Reserve University, where he received his degree.  

Early highlights of Alex’s career include engineering for the former Radio Smithsonian and post producing the programs ‘Folkmasters’ and ‘Jazz Smithsonian.’  In 1996, he began his audio for video endeavors for the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics.  That fall, he become the first audio engineer fellow for the New World Symphony, with Michael Tilson Thomas.  During his tenure there, he honed his skills in surround sound production, recording the symphony’s European Tour in surround in great halls such as the Barbican (London), the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), and the Konzerthaus (Vienna). Later becoming the “Audio Recording and Radio Media Production Supervisor” for Arizona Public Media (formerly KUAT Communications Group), he developed an expertise in audio codec utilization, system design & audio processing, producing one of the 1st high-quality classical Internet streams. He was instrumental in revamping the infrastructure of KUAT-FM's and KUAZ-FM's audio systems for optimal performance (boosting audience growth of both stations).  His work in Arizona included productions for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music. 

In 2002, Kosiorek became the “Audio Recording and Mastering Engineer” for the Corbett Studio and Cincinnati Public Radio, where he was Senior Engineer for the surround recordings and broadcasts of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, May Festival Chorus and Cincinnati Opera, among others. While in Cincinnati, Alex’s work took on national recognition, producing commercial recordings for ensembles including the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra, Ohio University Percussion Ensemble, Vocal Arts Ensemble and more. He also conducted in-depth tests of surround sound delivery systems and was instrumental in creating the first US radio station to commence 5.1 programming.

Appointed “Director of the Recording Services” (formerly 'Audio Services') at CIM in 2006, he oversaw the modernization of the recording department, enhancing services to include high-definition audio and video production, surround as well as online multimedia.  While at CIM, Alex led a design team to complete the THX PM3 Certified Conrad Studio, the first in a music conservatory worldwide. Alex was instrumental in CIM becoming the first conservatory to launch multi-platform mobile applications (apps) for the iPhone and Android mobile platforms, in addition to their mobile website.  Since then, Alex has started his own production company, producing audio, video and multimedia content for artists and organizations throughout the country.  His expertise includes ensuring high quality audio and video productions including live streaming applications.
